When exploring persian wool & silk blend, it is essential to understand both the construction and the application. Persian rug designs are the gold standard of the carpet world — central medallions framed by intricate floral borders, all-over botanical fields, hunting scenes, gardens, and stylised geometric vase patterns. Our Persian-style collection is hand-knotted in Bhadohi using the same Senneh and Ghiordes knot techniques that have produced the great Iranian carpets for centuries.
Coupled with this, our wool-and-silk blend rugs offer the best of both fibres — the durability and resilience of pure wool combined with the lustrous highlights of silk. Master weavers use wool for the structural pile and accent silk in motifs, medallions or borders, creating a layered visual effect that shifts as you walk around the room.

Persian designs typically feature central medallions and stylised floral fields. Mughal designs (developed in 16th-century India) emphasise naturalistic gardens, prayer arches and dense floral repeats. We weave both.
Most of our blends are 80% wool / 20% silk, with the silk used for highlights and motifs. We can produce custom blends from 90/10 to 50/50 depending on your aesthetic and budget.
