Rugs for Bedroom

A bedroom rug is the first thing your feet touch in the morning, so softness matters more than anywhere else in the house. Plush hand-tufted wool, hand-knotted wool-silk blends and viscose all work beautifully here — the lower foot traffic means you can prioritise feel and finish over heavy-duty durability.

For placement, you have two main options. Run the rug fully under the bed with at least 2-3 ft of rug visible on either side and at the foot (this typically calls for an 8x10 ft or 9x12 ft piece for a queen / king bed). Alternatively, place a smaller rug or pair of runners on either side of the bed to soften the step-out points without covering the whole floor.
