Cotton rugs and dhurries are lightweight, breathable and remarkably easy to live with. Because cotton is washable and naturally hypoallergenic, our cotton collection is a favourite for bedrooms, nurseries, kids' rooms and casual dining areas. Each piece is flatwoven by hand on traditional pit looms — there is no glue, no synthetic backing, just yarn and weave.
We specialise in cotton dhurries (the classic Indian flatweave) in stripes, geometric blocks, ikat patterns and contemporary plain colours. Pieces reverse fully, so you can flip the rug occasionally to even out wear. Available in standard sizes from 2x3 ft up to 12x15 ft and in any custom dimension you specify.
Small cotton dhurries (up to 3x5 ft) can usually be machine-washed on a cold gentle cycle. Larger pieces should be dry-cleaned or spot-cleaned to preserve shape and colour.
Cotton flatweaves are durable for low-to-medium traffic areas. For hallways and heavily used rooms, we recommend wool or jute instead.
Yes, like all flatweaves they can slide. We strongly recommend pairing with a quality rug pad — it also extends the rug's lifespan considerably.
