Hand-woven rugs are produced on traditional treadle looms where the artisan interlaces warp and weft yarns by hand — a technique that has been practiced in India for centuries. Hand-woven pieces tend to be flatter and lighter than knotted or tufted rugs, with a clean reversible structure and graphic, modern aesthetic.
Our hand-woven collection spans pure wool flatweaves, jute-and-wool blends, cotton dhurries and contemporary chevron, herringbone and chunky bouclé textures. These are excellent everyday rugs — practical, reversible, hard-wearing, and easy to clean.

All flatweaves are hand-woven, but not all hand-woven rugs are flatweaves. Some hand-woven pieces have a short pile produced by special loom techniques. The category is broader than "flatweave" alone.
Yes — because they have no glue or backing, hand-woven rugs are very long-lived. They're also reversible, so you can flip them periodically to even out wear.
