Both — we offer modern designs in both techniques. Hand-tufted is faster and more economical (4-8 weeks); hand-knotted is the heirloom-grade option (4-9 months for custom pieces).
Can I machine-wash a cotton dhurrie?
Small cotton dhurries (up to 3x5 ft) can usually be machine-washed on a cold gentle cycle. Larger pieces should be dry-cleaned or spot-cleaned to preserve shape and colour.
Are cotton rugs durable?
Cotton flatweaves are durable for low-to-medium traffic areas. For hallways and heavily used rooms, we recommend wool or jute instead.
