Moroccan Jute Rugs
When exploring moroccan jute rugs, it is essential to understand both the construction and the application. Moroccan rugs — particularly Beni Ourain and Azilal styles — bring relaxed bohemian warmth to a room. The classic look is plush ivory wool with simple black or charcoal diamond, trellis or geometric motifs, finished with longer pile and irregular tufted fringes.
Coupled with this, jute is one of the most sustainable natural fibres on earth — fast-growing, biodegradable, and beautifully textured. Our handwoven jute rugs bring an organic, earthy quality to interiors that synthetic alternatives can't match. They suit coastal, Scandinavian, boho and modern-rustic schemes equally well and act as the perfect neutral foundation in a layered room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are your Moroccan rugs made in Morocco?
They are Moroccan in design tradition but hand-woven in Bhadohi, India. The construction quality and design fidelity are the same; pricing is significantly more accessible than direct Moroccan imports.
Are Moroccan style rugs hard to keep clean?
The plush high pile takes a bit more vacuuming than a low-pile rug, but the ivory wool is naturally stain-resistant. Vacuum twice a week, blot spills immediately, and have it professionally cleaned every 18-24 months.
Are jute rugs scratchy underfoot?
Pure jute has a textured, slightly coarse feel that many people enjoy. If you want softer comfort, choose a jute-wool blend or layer the jute rug under a smaller wool piece in seating areas.
Can I use a jute rug outdoors?
No — jute absorbs moisture and will mildew if exposed to rain or damp conditions. For outdoor use we recommend our PET (recycled plastic) collection, which has a similar natural look but is fully weatherproof.
