Persian Jute Rugs
When exploring persian jute rugs, it is essential to understand both the construction and the application. Persian rug designs are the gold standard of the carpet world — central medallions framed by intricate floral borders, all-over botanical fields, hunting scenes, gardens, and stylised geometric vase patterns. Our Persian-style collection is hand-knotted in Bhadohi using the same Senneh and Ghiordes knot techniques that have produced the great Iranian carpets for centuries.
Coupled with this, jute is one of the most sustainable natural fibres on earth — fast-growing, biodegradable, and beautifully textured. Our handwoven jute rugs bring an organic, earthy quality to interiors that synthetic alternatives can't match. They suit coastal, Scandinavian, boho and modern-rustic schemes equally well and act as the perfect neutral foundation in a layered room.

Are your Persian-style rugs made in Iran?
No — they are inspired by Persian design tradition but hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India. We use the same knotting techniques, but at significantly more accessible pricing than authentic Iranian imports.
What's the difference between Persian and Mughal designs?
Persian designs typically feature central medallions and stylised floral fields. Mughal designs (developed in 16th-century India) emphasise naturalistic gardens, prayer arches and dense floral repeats. We weave both.
Are jute rugs scratchy underfoot?
Pure jute has a textured, slightly coarse feel that many people enjoy. If you want softer comfort, choose a jute-wool blend or layer the jute rug under a smaller wool piece in seating areas.
Can I use a jute rug outdoors?
No — jute absorbs moisture and will mildew if exposed to rain or damp conditions. For outdoor use we recommend our PET (recycled plastic) collection, which has a similar natural look but is fully weatherproof.
