Persian Viscose Rugs

When exploring persian viscose rugs, it is essential to understand both the construction and the application. Persian rug designs are the gold standard of the carpet world — central medallions framed by intricate floral borders, all-over botanical fields, hunting scenes, gardens, and stylised geometric vase patterns. Our Persian-style collection is hand-knotted in Bhadohi using the same Senneh and Ghiordes knot techniques that have produced the great Iranian carpets for centuries.

Coupled with this, viscose — sometimes called "art silk" — gives you the lustrous sheen and fluid drape of real silk at a much more accessible price point. Made from regenerated cellulose fibres, viscose accepts dye beautifully and produces vivid, jewel-like colour palettes that suit contemporary interiors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your Persian-style rugs made in Iran?

No — they are inspired by Persian design tradition but hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India. We use the same knotting techniques, but at significantly more accessible pricing than authentic Iranian imports.

What's the difference between Persian and Mughal designs?

Persian designs typically feature central medallions and stylised floral fields. Mughal designs (developed in 16th-century India) emphasise naturalistic gardens, prayer arches and dense floral repeats. We weave both.

Is viscose the same as bamboo silk?

Bamboo silk is a type of viscose made specifically from bamboo cellulose. It has a slightly silkier hand-feel and is more eco-friendly than standard wood-pulp viscose. We offer both.

Can viscose rugs be steam-cleaned?

No — viscose is moisture-sensitive and can develop water marks if over-wetted. Always use professional dry cleaning or low-moisture extraction for viscose rugs.
