Wool & Silk Blend for Bedroom
When exploring wool & silk blend for bedroom, it is essential to understand both the construction and the application. Our wool-and-silk blend rugs offer the best of both fibres — the durability and resilience of pure wool combined with the lustrous highlights of silk. Master weavers use wool for the structural pile and accent silk in motifs, medallions or borders, creating a layered visual effect that shifts as you walk around the room.
Coupled with this, a bedroom rug is the first thing your feet touch in the morning, so softness matters more than anywhere else in the house. Plush hand-tufted wool, hand-knotted wool-silk blends and viscose all work beautifully here — the lower foot traffic means you can prioritise feel and finish over heavy-duty durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much silk is in a wool-silk blend rug?
Most of our blends are 80% wool / 20% silk, with the silk used for highlights and motifs. We can produce custom blends from 90/10 to 50/50 depending on your aesthetic and budget.
Are wool-silk blends easier to care for than pure silk?
Yes — the wool backbone makes them more forgiving of foot traffic, vacuuming and the occasional spill. We still recommend professional cleaning every 2-3 years.
What size rug do I need under a king-size bed?
For a king bed (about 6x6.5 ft) you'll want a 9x12 ft rug to extend 2-3 ft on the sides and foot. For a queen bed, an 8x10 ft works well. A runner on each side (2.5x6 ft) is a more economical alternative.
Is silk a good choice for a bedroom rug?
Yes — bedrooms are the ideal setting for silk because foot traffic is low and there's usually less risk of spills than in living/dining areas. Pure silk and silk-wool blends shine here.
