Flatweave Cotton Rugs

Flatweave rugs have no pile — they are woven flat on a loom with the weft yarn interlocking through the warp, creating a thin, lightweight, fully reversible rug. This construction has been used across India, Persia, Turkey and the Caucasus for thousands of years for everything from saddle bags to palace carpets.

Coupled with this, cotton rugs and dhurries are lightweight, breathable and remarkably easy to live with. Each piece is flatwoven by hand on traditional pit looms — there is no glue, no synthetic backing, just yarn and weave.
