Every rug we make is handmade, full stop. We do not manufacture or sell machine-made rugs of any kind. Our workshops in Bhadohi employ over 200 master weavers, dyers and finishers — most of whom learned the craft from their parents and grandparents. Each piece passes through 5-12 pairs of skilled hands before it leaves our facility.

Flip it over. A handmade rug shows the full design on the back, with slight irregularities in knot/weave spacing. A machine-made rug typically has a fabric backing covering the underside, perfectly uniform construction, and a fringe that's been sewn on as a separate piece.
Handmade rugs last 30-100+ years vs 5-10 years for machine-made. They use natural fibres (wool, silk, cotton, jute) vs synthetics. They can be fully customised. And every purchase supports skilled artisans rather than industrial production.
