Master weavers use wool for the structural pile and accent silk in motifs, medallions or borders, creating a layered visual effect that shifts as you walk around the room.
Blend ratios vary by design: a classic 80% wool / 20% silk piece keeps day-to-day practicality, while a 60/40 blend pushes more towards the visual richness of silk. Every piece is hand-knotted in Bhadohi on traditional looms, hand-washed and stretched to size. These rugs perform well in living rooms, formal dining areas and master bedrooms — anywhere you want a touch of luxury without the fragility of pure silk.
Most of our blends are 80% wool / 20% silk, with the silk used for highlights and motifs. We can produce custom blends from 90/10 to 50/50 depending on your aesthetic and budget.
Yes — the wool backbone makes them more forgiving of foot traffic, vacuuming and the occasional spill. We still recommend professional cleaning every 2-3 years.
Silk highlights are typically placed in low-wear zones (borders, central medallions) by design. With normal use and rotation, the rug ages evenly.
